Hello!

My research focuses on language in humans and machines. I work in the areas of natural language processing (NLP), semantics and pragmatics, and speech and language technology. Currently, (among other things), I'm developing text analysis models to quantify, understand, and improve language learning.

Previously, I was an NLP researcher at the Feinstein Institutes. Before that, I completed my PhD in Linguistics from Michigan State University in August 2021, with an additional specialization in Cognitive Science. I also hold an MA in Second Language Acquisition from Hong Kong Baptist University.

Specializations

Assessment of semantic/pragmatic competence in (Large) Language Models, Chinese linguistics (meaning and structure), Computational approach to speech and language fluency
